May Day! May Day!

This Sunday (May 1st) Remy turns the big 3-2!  Holy guacamole batman! 

I've got a couple of things up my sleeve...the surprises start soon!

P.S. who watched the royal wedding?  I heart my DVR...cuz no offense, as much as I want to watch it, there was no way in H-E-double hockey sticks I was waking up THAT early!  Criminy!  But I did catch the kiss on the balcony live, and I'm not gonna lie, brought a little tear to my eye.

You Could Be on Broadway...but -

Funny story.  At least to me and Remy.  It's an old one, but I wanted to make sure I got it written down before I forgot all about it.  And it's one of those stories where I can remember weird details.  The kind of memory where you can totally relive the WHOLE thing in your head over and over.

So this past Christmas Remy and I were shopping for gifts at the mall.  We walked into Christopher & Banks because we saw something we thought his mom would like.  Anyhow we were in the back of the store and some song was playing (the exact being on of those details that I CANNOT remember for some reason) and I was doing my typical thing where I sing along and make up actions to the words. Well I was being overly dramatic this time around and I remember my actions being really big and awesome and I think I hit some big finishing move when Remy says -in all seriousness, "You could be on Broadway.  Except you can't sing."

It took both of us a second to realize what he just said.  And then we just busted up laughing!  The first part was meant to be a sort of compliment.  And the second more offensive part he said so matter of factly and didn't realize what he said, it was just funny!  Now he's LUCKY I thought it was so funny because I'm one of those people is well aware at my singing INability, so I wasn't offended.  And he realizes he was lucky.  Because if I was one of those people who THOUGHT I was a good singer, I would have totally been offended and it would have been to the dog house for him.

This might be one of those "you just had to be there" stories, but oh man.  We had a good laugh.  And we still do.  In fact we just brought it up the other day which is why I had it on my mind and just had to share!

Spoiled

So I would like to say that Remy, he's just awesome.  If you're married and can't say that your spouse is your favorite person ever, then you better figure something out to fix that.  Cuz seriously, he's my fave.  He totally spoiled me and got me a gift certificate to get a massage and a facial.  Just for no reason other than that he's awesome!  (oh and maybe cuz I deserve it too! ;) )  Love you!

Christmas and Disneyland and Anniversaries, OH MY!

Oh yeah, and don't forget New Years!

So we had a busy Christmas, but it was fun.  We did our gifts for each other on Christmas Eve.  Remy got me diamond earrings!  -Which was really for our anniversary, but he was a little too excited to wait.  Later that day we went with Remy's brother Jake and our nephew Mako to see Tangled.  It was awesome!  Seriously, if you haven't gone to see it...for the love of all that's holy just go!

I like to try to guess what my presents are, so Remy had to use some anti-shaking devices to keep me from figuring what he got me.  :)  So in this particular box he wrapped my CD in a towel and put it in a bigger box with a dictionary to weight it.  He also got me a pair of shoes and put a hammer in the box!

Christmas Eve night was spent at Remy's parent's where we had a nice dinner and hours and hours of A Christmas Story.  Then it was off to pick up my little siblings (who are all MUCH taller than me) and we all spent the night over at Heather and Jared's where we watched...wait for it...A Christmas Story!  I literally forced myself to sleep so I wouldn't have to watch it again.

Christmas morning we went over to my parent's and opened gifts.  My parent's got us a KitchenAid stand mixer!  Yay!  And also our set of Cutco knives (with which I have already almost lost 2 fingers).  It was a great time.  They also got a Kinect, which is SO fun!

Then off to the in-laws! Remy's mom made us a great quilt and matching pillows!  They're awesome.  Then we had a DELICIOUS breakfast with more....A Christmas Story.  I can appreciate it once or twice through, but 2 days worth?  No.  It literally got to the point I had to get up and leave!


Then on the 28th was our first anniversary and we left for Disneyland! First night we stayed in Vegas at the Hilton.  EARLY the next morning we left for California because I just realized I had made lunch reservations at the Blue Bayou.  Why that hadn't dawned on me before I have no idea.

We had a great 5 days in Disneyland and Remy even got his first annual pass! :)

We had fairly decent weather while we were there.  It was pouring rain on our way into California and literally stopped when we got out of the car at the Disneyland parking lot.  Then it was just cool the rest of the time.  

New Year's Eve we spent the whole day in the park.  We got there early enough that they hadn't filled to capacity yet, but we had to stay the whole day just in case.  It was pretty cold that day and night, we wore sweatshirts and coats and had to put on hats at night.  The park was packed of course, but we managed to even ride Space Mountain 3 times without waiting for more than 30 minutes.  :)  We're just good like that.

 

We went to the Park the next day too, and we got a LOT in!  It was so empty compared to the previous days.  It was NICE!  And then on our way out of the park it started raining again...we have such good timing! ;)

Then as we were driving out, we hadn't even hit Victorville yet and this is what we drove through...this was my first time ever seeing snow in California, let alone driving in it!

It was an awesome trip and we can't wait to go back!

So I just have to tell you this funny story real quick. Tonight Remy and I went on a date to the place we first had dinner together. It's this little Chinese restaurant called the Dragon Diner on the corner of the 13th e. and 3900 s. if you're ever interested...

So we pull in to the parking lot and go to get out of the car. Well sometimes I forget to let him open my door for me so I'll open the door and then close it and make him come open it anyway. :) So that's what happened tonight....only he didn't realize I wasn't following him. I sat there, he walked toward the restaurant, even locked the car doors. I just kept sitting there. It felt like it took him forever to figure out I was missing! But it was pretty funny. And in his defense, he did hear me open and close the door so he thought I got out. He finally noticed because he was holding his hand out for me to hold and I never grabbed it. Anyhow, it was funny. Thank you, goodnight!

Nothin' Much

First of all I would just like to say that I'm SOOO happy that today is the last day Remy and I have to work opposite schedules. He's switched to the night shift just for a few weeks and it's been TORTURE! Basically he starts work one hour before I get off so I literally do not see him from Monday - Friday night.

This crappy schedule is magnified by the fact that my car is STILL out of commission. I will say that the guy who is working on my car is SO nice. He's been really good about keeping me up to date on what's going on (which is literally nothing). The warranty company wanted to come inspect it, blah, blah, blah so basically it's taken a full week for the warranty people to decide whether or not they wanted to come inspect the car, finally come inspect it, and now we're still waiting for them to give the dealership the green light to even start working on the car. A week! And the dealership can't even work on the car yet. Whatever.

P.S. Supernanny is on right now and I just think she is the coolest person ever.

And if you're wondering what that picture of Remy is...well when we got home from the honeymoon the tray under the washing machine was filled with water. So he put on my cute flower rubber gloves to sop it all up. He wouldn't put on an apron though. Huh. :)

Night Out

I want to preface this story with a little background information: Remy and I are not night owls. And we've always teased ourselves that we were getting old because we'd go out to dinner on a Friday night and then be ready for bed by 8. It's sad really.

So a couple Friday nights ago we went out to dinner and really didn't want to go home right after with nothing to do.


So we did a little bowling (and if I recall I won the second game!):























And played a few mean games of air hockey (which I only won 1 out of 3 games). Let me just say, air hockey is the cheapest date ever! Only 50 cents per game...and it's so fun!

Peach Days Miracle/State Fair Fun

Okay so about a hundred years ago it was Peach Days up in Brigham City...so maybe not 100 years, more like a few weeks ago--September 12th to be exact...

So I wanted to go to Peach Days real, real bad and Remy being the kind hear that his said he'd take me. So we start driving and we're coming up on the Brigham City exits and it dawns on me that I have no idea where in Brigham City this thing actually is. I know, I know you're thinking, "what's the big deal, Brigham City is like the smallest place EVER!" Well guess what, even if that's true, when you have no idea where you're going any size place can feel huge.

This is where the miracle comes in. We decide to get off on the second exit. I'm searching the GPS on my phone hoping to find the location of the city park or something cuz chances are it's nearby. Lo and behold we got off the freeway and practically ran into Peach Days!

It was way fun! I have some pics, but they're on my other computer so I'll have to post them later. They had a car show and holy cow I couldn't believe how many cars they had. Two huge fields just full of them. We could have spent all day looking at them.

We had some delicious food which included Dutch Oven peach cobbler....MMMMMMmmmm! After Peach Days we headed straight over to Remy's parents' house to meet his family to go to the State Fair. It was quite the day!

At the fair we saw a sign advertising the smallest woman in the world. Remy's sister in laws and I were totally curious about it and wondered if it was real or how they did it, or what. So we gathered our dollar bills and took a peek. Wow, there was really a woman sitting there, in a chair, and we just paid a dollar to stare at her. I felt terrible! It was just a weird feeling, I felt bad for her. She's from Haiti and I think the guy taking the money was from there as well. So I'm sure they were making decent money, and it's not like she's being held captive or something. I just can't imagine knowing that people are spending a dollar to come stare at you is that great. I don't know. We all walked away feeling bad. The funny thing is that my mom was at the fair a few days later and someone was talking to her about this and they said they felt bad about it too.

Let's see, what else? We got some funnel cake--delish! It had bavarian cream and chocolate sauce. I'm ususally a fan of fruit toppings, but that was way good. Remy got a slushy that had a leak in the bottom of the cup so it leaked red juice all over him. We checked out al the animals (thrilling) and that was just about it.
