Where's Malcom Wednesday

It's time to revisit Where's Malcom Wednesday.

This post is also slightly embarrassing to me because...well, you'll see...

Yeah.

Preparing for a flood there?

Apparently I am.  Oops.

Malcom LOVES to hide behind the curtains.  There's a heater vent back there for one, which we already know he loves to sit on.  But he also can catch some rays back there, plus, who just doesn't like to look out the window?  Well, now we can easily spot him when he IS behind them, because well...I shrunk the curtains.

They used to go all the way to the floor.  They were the perfect length as a matter of fact.  Remy's mother was so kind to hem them for him when he bought the place.  I decided to be a good housewife (which I'm not) and give the curtains a good wash (and dry).  Yeah so apparently drying them wasn't the best idea.  I didn't even know it was POSSIBLE for fabric to shrink that much!  That's a good 4 inches!

Now it just looks really funny when the cat goes back there...um...we can see you!

**Note to self: LET CURTAINS AIR DRY!

Long Weekend to Myself

So Remy and I didn't have to work yesterday (yay).  Don't you just love random holidays?  -Well, random holidays you get paid for not showing up and work anyway?

Fun fact:  The University of Michigan (and I'm sure many others) don't get President's Day off.  There's another one they don't get, but I can't remember.  So yay for the U and all our paid holidays as well as that extra one in July! {love}

BUT Remy had a guy's weekend in Denver (not yay).  So I had 4 days to myself.  Which was okay...I actually got a TON done on Friday...cleaned the bathroom, did dishes, cleaned and vacuumed the living room, changed the sheets and that was all between 5:30 and 6:45!  I know, I'm amazing!  Then my friend Jesica came on over to keep me company and accompanied me to Zumba on Saturday morning! :)  YAY!  I kept busy the rest of the day too, went to the gym, got ready, eyebrows waxed, hair cut (not so good), a little shopping, cleaned the bedroom, tried to organize the 2nd bedroom but failed miserably, framed and hung a new peice of art in our bedroom (which Remy has yet to notice.  It's above our bed people, not that hard to see),prepared my Primary lesson...I rock!

Sunday I sat on the couch literally ALL DAY!  Because of this:

Look at that!  Could you move if that thing was sleeping on your lap?  I think not!  (even those of you who are thinking the opposite...I dare you to try it when it happens to you!  Trust me, I was in your same shoes!)  Unfortunately those of you who have cats know that they can sleep...and sleep...and sleep....for HOURS!  So that pretty much made up for any productivity I had accomplished the previous days (though I did get my 2 custom subway art orders made-turned out adorable!).  But who cares, I deserve it.  Plus it's Sunday...day of REST...hello.

Unfortunately on Monday I was equally as unproductive.  Oh I had plans.  Big plans.  But what can I say?  I did go to the gym for a while.  I spent 65 minutes on the elliptical which I had never done for that long before, plus some weights.  Having a good book really helps.  I'm just jumping on the Hunger Games bandwagon and loving it so far.

Thank you for joining me on my President's Day weekend journey...it's been fun.  Real fun.

See you next time!

Where's Malcom Wednesday

I can't believe how fancy I am!  A video?  Wow.

Honestly I'm just happy I was able to figure out how to get the videos off of my phone!  I thought they were stuck there forever!

No really, I did.

So in this week's installment of Where's Malcom Wednesday, our story begins with a cat who likes to put himself above everyone.  Seriously.  He's always on top of anything he can manage that is at leat 5 feet off the ground. His thing is to leap from the bed onto the open bifold closet doors and just perch himself there and look down on everyone.  Only this time when he made the leap, the doors were shut.  (He's not the brightest crayon in the box at times)  Miraculously he was able to fit his paws in the gap between the door and the track.  How, I do not know.  And I only wish I could have caught that on camera!

But here he is in all his glory...hanging....from the closet doors.

Where's Malcom Wednesday -The Cat in a Hat

So today's post isn't really about where he is physically, although trust me, he's been in some funny places.  The other day I was at Target and I saw this little cat hat.  I normally wouldn't care, but I could just imagine how funny the cats would look wearing this.  So I bought one -knowing full well it would be a complete waste of my $5, but I couldn't resist for some strange reason.  So here you go.

We got Malcom to keep it on the other morning as he was lounging so he didn't really mind all that much.  Although you can see that Remy had to hold him down so he wouldn't run off.

This post will also feature Little Grey who I thought actually wouldn't mind wearing the hat because she didn't mind the collars we would put on her.  I was wrong.  She was pissed.  And it was hilarious.  At least to me.  She flattened her ears and just glared at me until I clicked the picture and then ran off.  It took a few times of me chasing her around trying to make her keep it on long enough so take a picture.  I think she finally figured out what I was trying to do and just humored me, which made it even funnier.  Again, at least to me.

Merry Christmas!

Awe!

Yesterday we were at the store and I saw this adorable collar with a red bow on it that I wanted to get for Little Grey. But we got a collar for Malcom once and he acted like his tail was on fire! Seriously. They all come with bells on them and we even took the bell off and he still wouldn’t calm down. He kept trying to get his mouth on it and he would even get his bottom teeth stuck on it so his jaw was open probably farther than it should go. Anyway the point is I had to convince Remy to invest in the $3 collar because it had an adorable bow , and I won.

When we get home I put it on her and she didn’t even notice! When she’d move and the bell would ring she’d kinda look around but just kept doing her thing. The picture isn’t all that great, I took it from my phone and animals are not the easiest things to photograph. And her long fur is covering half of it, but you get the idea. She looks so cute! We want to leave the bell on her so we don’t accidentally lock her in anymore closets for hours at a time (whoops), but it's actually getting on my nerves now so I may try to take it off. I'm just thrilled she didn't go berserk trying to get it off!

New Friend

Okay so about 8 months ago Remy got a kitten named Malcolm. He is super cute, but dang that cat is CRAZY! Seriously crazy. In fact he even got nicknamed, and pardon my French, but his loving nickname Remy gave him is the shitty kitty -because he is one. We're pretty sure he hallucenates because he'll sit at the base of all wall, look straight up, start making these weird noises and then jump like he's trying to get something. Yeah, there's nothing there. His newest trick is to jump, spread eagle on your back if you bend over at all. I keep reminding Remy that he picked Malcolm because he was so cute ASLEEP, not because of his personality while he was awake! True story.
So Remy had been debating ever since he brought Malcolm home whether or not he should get a second cat as a playmate for Malcolm. I think he was so paranoid about even having one that he decided not to get the second. Well over time we figured out that Malcolm tends to behave a little better when people are around more. And with Remy always at work and then doing other stuff after work, there wasn't anyone around to keep the kitty company. Then when Remy was working 70 hour weeks for a while there, things just got out of hand and Malcolm was getting psychotic. So it was decided he needed a friend.

Remy went to the pet store a few weeks ago to pick some stuff up and the Humane Society was there and he fell in love with an older (older as in 5 months old and not a brand new kitten) gray kitten. He went home and got Malcolm so they could meet and make sure they didn't hate each other. I wasn't there, but apparently Malcolm was afraid of this cute little girl. But they didn't seem to hate each other so he brought her home. He named her Little Grey...I say it's after Merideth's sister in Grey's Anatomy he says it's partially that and partially something else...whatever.

For a while Malcolm just followed Little Grey everywhere she went and wouldn't leave her alone. Then he started pouncing on her and pinning her down until she growled and hissed (which is so cute by the way because she such a little thing and doesn't make a peep otherwise). She had just been spayed so she wasn't really in the mood to fight back much. But she has changed her tune now! He's teaching her some bad habits.
The point of all of this is the picture at the top (I really hate how pictures are not easily moved on this site and my new version of explorer won't let me copy and paste my text within this post and I forgot to add the pic first!). This is poor, sick Little Grey. She had a fever and a soar throat and a stuffy nose. It was the saddest thing ever. We took her to the vet and they did some tests and gave her some meds, but she was sick for quite a while and it was the saddest thing ever. She would just lay in her bed just like the picture, poor little thing. You can just see on her face how miserable she is. She was so cuddly though...and P.S. she loves me! Which means I can't help but love her back! Whenever I go over there she comes and sits on my lap (I think Remy is a little jealous).
Anyhow she's pretty much back to herself now and still loves me. ;)
